Crowds gather around the Gatlinburg Space Needle to countdown the final moments of 2014. At the stroke of midnight, the ball will drop and fireworks will erupt from the top of the Space Needle to light up the sky in celebration of the new year! In addition, special LED lights have been added to the Space Needle to make the stunning display even more spectacular. The entire show is choreographed with beautiful music that has been created especially for the fireworks display.

of free parking available on River Road, which is adjacent to the Parkway. It is expected that these spots will fill up first as crowds arrive to the event. However, there are a number of private lots on River Road that offer flat rate parking. Other convenient options that are within easy walking distance of the Space Needle are the McMahan Parking Garage and the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies Parking Garage.
