The Gatlinburg SkyLift Park is getting even more exciting with the addition of the SkyTrail, a scenic walkway that connects each end of the park’s famous SkyBridge! This unique walkway allows you to enjoy a leisurely hike in the mountains with 3 distinct sections, including an elevated boardwalk that stretches along the hillside of a ravine! Here are the top 4 things to know about the new SkyTrail at the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park:

1. What to Expect

The SkyTrail is a scenic walkway that is suitable for family members of all ages, and even dogs are welcome to join in on the fun! The trail is just over one-third of a mile in length and features several sections, starting with an Elevated Boardwalk that leads from the SkyDeck and cuts under the SkyBridge! While walking along this portion, enjoy reading interactive signs about the engineering of the SkyBridge, the history of the Gatlinburg SkyLift, and the wildfires in 2016 that swept across Crockett Mountain. Be sure to also visit the Tulip Tower, which is a steel tower that sets back in the ravine. It can be accessed by a pair of rope bridges and it features 4 elevated viewing platforms! Finally, the Path is a non-boardwalk portion of the trail that cuts into the natural hillside, offering stunning views of the Smokies with every step!

2. How to Access the Gatlinburg SkyTrail

Gatlinburg SkyLift Since the SkyTrail is part of SkyLift Park, you simply need to take the SkyLift from downtown Gatlinburg! There is plenty of public parking available in Gatlinburg, including at 510 River Road, which is just a short walk from the chairlift departure point. The iconic SkyLift is an attraction of its own and features beautiful views of the Smoky Mountains on the climb to the top of Crockett Mountain!

3. Hours of Operation

The park is open daily throughout the year, with the exception of Christmas Day. It generally opens at 9 AM and closes at 9 PM, but there are extended closing times during the summer months. When planning your trip, be sure to check the official hours of operation for the SkyLift Park for any special holiday hours or planned maintenance. Keep in mind that the posted closing times represent when the last tickets are sold at the ticket booth and that the top of the park closes one hour following the ticket booth closure.

4. Ticket Information

Gatlinburg SkyBridge The tickets to Gatlinburg SkyLift Park include unlimited access to the SkyLift, SkyBridge, SkyTrail, SkyDeck and SkyCenter! This means that you can visit each section as many times as you want until the park closes for the night! Ride up during the daylight hours to experience the spectacular views of the Smokies, then come back down at night to see the lights sparkle below in downtown Gatlinburg! Note that there are reduced ticket prices for seniors ages 65 and over, as well as for kids ages 4 to 11. Children ages 3 and under are admitted to the park for free!
