4 Tips for the Ultimate Movie Night at Our Gatlinburg Cabins with Theater Rooms

If you’re a movie buff, you’ll love staying at one of our Gatlinburg cabins with theater rooms! These awesome theaters offer a genuine cinema-style experience right in your home away from home in the Smokies. While each cabin is a little different, amenities you may find in your theater room include film projectors, movie theater seating, surround sound, and Blu Ray players. To help you make the most of your next vacation, Acorn Cabin Rentals has put together four tips for planning the ultimate movie night in your cabin’s theater room.

1. Remember to Bring Your DVD Collection

Before you leave home, be sure to pack some of your favorite DVDs! Our theater rooms typically don’t come with a library of movies, so you’ll definitely want to bring a handful of discs from your collection. We recommend packing a diverse mix of films because you never know what you (or your kids) will be in the mood for during your vacation.

2. Stop by a Redbox for the Latest ReleasesA DVD being placed in its case.

If you’re hoping to watch a movie that was recently released on DVD, you can swing by one of the area’s Redboxes. In case you’re unfamiliar with the concept, a Redbox is essentially a vending machine that allows you to rent DVDs for just a few dollars. Once you’ve finished watching the movie, simply head back to the Redbox and return the disc. According to the Redbox website, you can find Redbox machines at the following locations near our Gatlinburg cabins with theater rooms:

  • The Walgreens at 811 Parkway in Gatlinburg (inside the store)
  • The Food City at 1219 E Parkway in Gatlinburg (outside the store)

3. Consider a Double Feature

Sometimes, it’s difficult for families to decide on a movie to watch. One way to make everyone happy is to have a double (or even triple) feature. If you have kids who are a number of years apart in age, you can start the evening with a family-friendly movie that everyone will enjoy. Then, once the youngest children have gone to bed, you can watch a second movie that may appeal to an older audience. Of course, movie marathons can also be a ton of fun if you want to watch a bunch of movies in the same series, such as Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Batman.

Two bowls of popcorn.4. Don’t Hold Back on the Snacks

Half the fun of watching a movie is chowing down on your favorite snacks during the film! All of our cabins come with fully furnished kitchens, so you’ll be able to whip up plenty of tasty treats for your movie night. While you can’t go wrong with classic snacks like popcorn, nachos, and candy, don’t be afraid to experiment with some new movie munchies. Tying in your snacks with the theme of your movie (Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans for a Harry Potter marathon, for instance) can be a blast.
