When and Where

Tunes and Tales starts up again on April 5th. During the spring, there will be shows every Friday and Saturday night. In the summer, Tunes and Tales becomes a nightly event, with performances every day of the week from June 6 through August 9.

All of the shows take place in beautiful downtown Gatlinburg. The festivities start around 6 p.m. and usually last until 11 p.m. As always, all of the Tunes and Tales performances are completely free.

Our cabins in Gatlinburg are just minutes away from the downtown area! We are also offering some great specials during April and May to make your stay in the Smokies even more affordable. When you stay with us for three nights, you’ll get a bonus fourth night for free! To take advantage of this excellent discount, just use the code 4Free13 when making your reservation.

Musicians and Dancers

Tunes and Tales celebrates the Smoky Mountains’ rich musical heritage. Some of the best musicians the area will play traditional Appalachian songs, folk music, bluegrass, and country. You won’t be able to resist tapping your toes and singing along!

Where there is music, there is also bound to be dancing. The Back Porch Cloggers will be back in town to demonstrate their fancy footwork. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes, because the Cloggers have been known to pull audience members on stage to learn a few steps!

Storytellers and Artisans

In addition to plenty of tunes, you’ll also hear some tales! Costumed characters from centuries ago will walk the streets and stop to tell stories from long ago to everyone and anyone who wants to listen. One of the best characters from years past is an old timey police officer who gives out deputy badges to children who pledge to uphold the law.

Skilled artisans will also be making rounds downtown to show off their craft. Keep your eyes peeled for woodworkers, because  there is nothing like watching someone carve a walking stick right before your eyes!Special Guest

Special Guest

No Tunes and Tales is complete without an appearance from Gatlinburg’s official mascot, Zeno the Bear. This friendly guy loves to pose for pictures, dance to the music, and greet visitors with a great big bear hug!
