Aunt Mahalia's Candies in Gatlinburg.

Do you have a sweet tooth? Maybe a few sweet teeth? If so, do your chompers a favor and take them to one of the oldest and most celebrated candy shops in the Smoky Mountains. Located just minutes away from our cabins in Gatlinburg, Aunt Mahalia’s Homemade Candies make any trip to the Smoky Mountains even sweeter.

Aunt Mahalia’s has been beloved since 1939 because of its dedication to quality and craft. Unlike large candy manufacturers, Aunt Mahalia’s makes all of its candy by hand in a glass-enclosed kitchen. This old-fashioned approach has made Aunt Mahalia’s a classic fixture of Gatlinburg for 74 years.

Aunt Mahalia’s is most famous for its Heavenly Fudge. The candy shop cooks its fudge in copper kettles and pours it onto marble slabs. This delectable treat comes in many different flavors including chocolate, chocolate pecan, peanut butter and vanilla pecan. Caramel apples are another one of Aunt Mahalia’s specialties. Made from large Granny Smith Apples dipped in creamy caramel, these treats have truly unique toppings, such as M&M’s, sprinkles, fresh peanuts, fresh pecans, dark chocolate or white chocolate with Oreos. Aunt Mahalia’s also offers sugar-free desserts, honey, syrup, and jam.

After visiting one of Aunt Mahalia’s two Gatlinburg locations, you will want to head back to your cabin to enjoy your newly purchased sweets.
